BetVictor launches revamped iOS sportsbook app

victorBetVictor has launched the latest version of its iOS app, with the sports betting product now available in Apple’s App Store. The app has undergone its biggest overhaul since it first went live in December 2012 and has been redesigned to make it similar to the company’s mobile betting site.

It also features new account and bet history sections, while in-play clocks have been added to keep customers informed of their activity. BetVictor’s director of mobile Turlough Lally commented that he was delighted with the redevelopment of the app and the successful launch of the product ahead of the FIFA World Cup, which begins today.

“Our research suggests that 80 per cent of all bets made on the tournament will be done through a mobile device and with this update the experience will be made easier and better than ever,” Lally explained.

Earlier this week BetVictor published research that predicts that the majority of all bets on the tournament will be placed via mobile devices, up from the 33 per cent that were placed using smartphones at the 2012 European Championships. It also expects to surpass the 65 per cent of bets placed using mobile devices in the 2013-14 Premier League season.

“Brazil 2014 is going to be the World Cup of mobile with customers watching the games in bars, restaurants and having their own private parties,” Lally added. “We have already seen a steady rise in mobile sign ups in recent weeks as punters cotton on to the fact that their mobile devices will be the betting medium of choice for the 2014 World Cup.”
