Long-serving Allwyn senior manager Martin Novák is set to take on a prominent role in the group’s plans for the UK National Lottery licence transition as the Data Director of its UK brand.
Novák will take the helm of Allwyn UK’s data strategy for the National Lottery, which it is due to assume licensing duties of in February 2024 after winning the Fourth Licence Contest last year, unseating long-term steward Camelot UK. Novák will be responsible for the data strategy for the licence transition period, although not for the full 10-year operating period of the licence.
To streamline the transition period and circumvent legal challenges from Camelot, Allwyn acquired the Watford-based company from the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan (OTTP) earlier this year.
Announcing his new role on LinkedIn, Novák said: “Thrilled to share my new role as Data Director at Allwyn UK for the remainder of our transition until we become operator of The National Lottery in February 2024! Excited to lead data-driven strategies and help shape our plans for the future of Fourth National Lottery licence.”
In his description of the position on his LinkedIn profile, Novák described his duties as “helping shape Allwyn data landscape in preparation for taking on the Fourth National Lottery Licence, with primary focus on Business intelligence, Data warehousing, and Data management, all within the framework of robust Enterprise Data Governance”.
A long-term member of Allwyn management, Novák has been with the company for seven years and seven months, serving for over five years as Head of Business Intelligence, having initially joined the company as a Senior CRM Specialist.
