Scientific Games wins instant games supplier contract for Santa Casa Portugal

Scientific Games Corporation has been selected as the exclusive instant games supplier to Portugal’s Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (Santa Casa) on a three-year contract.

Santa Casa is a charitable organisation, responsible for distributing all funds generated by Portugal’s national lottery and football pool products. The lottery is Europe’s fourth-largest instant game operator with the vertical producing about $1.9bn of its annual retail sales.

Dr Edmundo Martinho, President of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, said: “We are pleased to award this new instant games contract to Scientific Games. Our long history with the company provides an excellent foundation to continue the responsible growth of SCML instant game entertainment to generate maximum funding benefitting our charitable causes.”

Through legacy companies, Scientific Games has been providing SCML with instant games – called RASPADINHA – since the lottery launched in 1995.

John Schulz, Senior VP, Instant Products for Scientific Games, added: “We are honoured to be the primary instant game supplier to Europe’s top four performing lotteries and nine of the top 10 performers globally.

“Scientific Games is excited to expand our longtime, successful relationship with SCML in Portugal to continue the lottery’s growth by offering exciting instant game entertainment to Portuguese players while responsibly generating maximum proceeds for the lottery’s charitable cause.”

Earlier this month, Scientific Games announced it will provide its Wave retail terminals to Bremer Toto-Lotto as part of its new contract with the lottery, along with its new Symphony Edge terminal software, cloud-based Symphony terminal management system and software maintenance.
