TPD solidifies LatAm horse racing status with ElTurf partnership

Live racing data support Total Performance Data (TPD) has strengthened its position in the Latin American (LatAm) horse racing market via a partnership with ElTurf.com.

In an extension of its global market status, the addition of Latin America has enabled TPD to expand its operations to three continents, having already maintained its presence in Europe and North America.

TPD will provide live race graphics, timing, stride patterns and new betting opportunities in a ‘cost effective package’, which it anticipates will ‘prove popular’ as sport returns to a sense of normality following numerous coronavirus-related national lockdowns.

The data provider currently operates at 24 UK tracks, including Ascot, Chester and Doncaster, in addition to 16 American race tracks such as Tampa Bay, Woodbine and Del Mar.

Will Duff Gordon, CEO of Total Performance Data, said: “We are delighted to be working with Gonzalo Reyes and the ElTurf team to set up as many tracks as possible in Latin America.

“Sport and betting are increasingly global and we look to offer the same information on horse racing in Chester or Chile.”

TPD currently tracks the performances of over 300,000 horses across 30,000 races in the UK, US and Canada, and its data has been extensively leveraged internationally by race courses, owners, trainers, in-play betting companies and professional gamblers.

The firm intends to utilise the partnership with ElTurf to mirror its north American rollout strategy – conducted in collaboration with Equibase – and continue its commercial strategy to ‘capture equine performances around the clock and across the globe’, having already signed up a Chilean race track client.

“We are very pleased to start working with TPD in Latin America as it means advancing in the areas that we like the most, technology and data,” added Gonzalo Reyes, Director at ElTurf.com

“It will provide great benefits to the Latin American fans who will have new information for their betting decisions and improved graphics on the streaming service.

“The technology will significantly raise the standard of information to boost the export of races to more demanding and significantly larger markets. All this will be deployed during our first installation to then expand to the other racetracks in the region, with the informational available on our ElTurf.com platform.”
