Racing Victoria has announced a multi-year partnership with TripleSdata (tSd) and Total Performance Data (TPD).
The deal will see the integration of live race tracking content from Victoria’s most frequently used racecourses into TPD’s live odds engine, generating fully automated in-the-run odds for every runner throughout the race.
Carlos Santo, CEO of tripleSdata, said: “Commercialising race data has always been at the forefront of tSd’s strategy for our clients. In-play betting is an exciting new revenue stream which we believe will deliver great value to jurisdictions in the coming years.”
In detail, when integrated with wagering operators, customers will gain an expanded in-the-run offering which will deliver odds for all runners in the field, and for longer whilst a race is being run.
tSd’s SMART tracking solution is now operational at six venues where a significant portion of Racing Victoria’s wagering occurs; Caulfield, Flemington, Moonee Valley, Sandown, Pakenham and Cranbourne.
The partners also agreed that the new deal presents an ‘exceptional opportunity’ to automate and enhance in-the-run betting, thereby boosting turnover and engagement.
Will Duff Gordon, CEO of Total Performance Data, added: “We are thrilled to partner with such a prominent name in world racing. Victorian Racing stands as one of the preeminent racing products globally, and Australian punters are renowned for their unparalleled passion.
“We look forward to enabling an immersive in-the-run betting and cash-out experience.”
TPD’s UK, US and Canadian in-play betting service is already live with top bookmakers such as Ladbrokes, Coral, William Hill, BetVictor, BoyleSports, and Sky Bet, whilst integration discussions are reportedly underway with leading Australian WSPs.
“Driving innovation surrounding new ways to bet and engage in our racing product is a core component of our strategy at Racing Victoria,” Simon Cunliffe, General Manager for Wagering & Corporate Development at Racing Victoria.
Cunliffe concluded that the company is looking forward to leveraging both companies’ experiences in creating in-the-run odds and the positive impacts it anticipates this will have on turnover.
The German Tote also recently partnered with TPD for race tracking and data monetisation across all 19 thoroughbred racecourses and several harness tracks in the country.
This deal began at Berlin’s Hoppegarten for the beginning of their Turf season last week.
