Total Performance Data (TPD) has announced that Silicon Valley enterprise expert Jeremy Doig has joined its business as a non-executive director (NED).
A 35-year technology veteran, Doig has most recently served as CTO of the Disney+ network, overseeing the streaming giant’s team of over 2,500 developers working on technologies for ESPN+, Hulu, Star+ and Disney+.
Recognised as a ‘Valley figurehead’ Doig has led tech transformation and enterprise projects for the BBC, Microsoft, and has further served as a 18-year employee at Google.
Doig joins TPD following the expansion of its live data and telematics tracking solution installed across the US racetracks of Aqueduct, Belmont, Saratoga, Churchill Downs, Ellis Park and Louisiana Downs.
TPD Chairman, Eamonn Wilmott said: “We are incredibly excited to have Jeremy join the board of TPD at what is a pivotal time for racing globally. Attracting a technology visionary like Jeremy isn’t easy and it’s a testament to the remarkable work done by the TPD team and their racetrack partners that he is joining us.
“Everyone in racing is united about the need for greater engagement with our sport’s customers, and crucially for our future customers. Adding someone with Jeremy’s ideas and experience will help us build the best technologies available to grow the sport.”
Founded in 2014 by Will Duff Gordon, TPD seeks to monetise live data from horseracing events via the use of real time telematics to help provide new engagements and visualisations for racing audiences.
Of significance, TPD’s growth has seen “over £10m placed on its In-play odds service available on the tier-1 betting platforms of Ladbrokes, Corals, Sky Bet, William Hill, Bet Victor and Boylesports.”
Will Duff Gordon, TPD CEO, noted: “It is clearly a coup getting someone of Jeremy’s background and stature to join the TPD board, we couldn’t be more delighted.
“We have spent more than five years and many millions of pounds developing our In-Play odds algorithm that has recently been deployed across UK and US racing with great success. Building on TPD’s commitment in remote sensing, realtime computer vision and machine learning systems, we are excited to continue to grow our engineering talent to accelerate our roadmap in this fast-moving area.”
