RMG renews broadcast partnership with Meydan Dubai

Racecourse Media Group (RMG) has extended its contract with the Meydan Group to provide production and distribution of the next two full horseracing seasons at the course for a further two years.

The season is now underway and culminates with the prestigious $35 million Dubai World Cup card on 28 March 2020 – recognised as the most international and valuable day’s racing.

Timeline Television will provide broadcast facilities and crew to support RMG’s host production and on-course coverage.

Richard FitzGerald, CEO of RMG, commented: “We are delighted that Meydan has once again appointed RMG for its production and distribution services. We look forward to working closely with our valued partners, Meydan, in showcasing such a significant sporting event to the world.”

RMG, which has produced and distributed horseracing from the flagship racecourse in Dubai for the previous four seasons, is offering a number of broadcast rights packages for the season, hosted by the Dubai Racing Club.

The domestic season leads into the Dubai World Cup Carnival, which starts on 2 January 2020 and takes in 10 fixtures, before climaxing with the world’s richest day’s racing – the Dubai World Cup race-day with total purses of $35 million.

The deal continues to boost the global commercial capabilities of racing and Meydan as the track embarks upon increased engagement through a plethora of broadcasting partners around the world including –  NBC (US), CBC, (Canada), ESPN (Latin America, Caribbean), Fuji TV (Japan), Sina (China), SuperSport (sub-Saharan Africa), Sky Thoroughbred Central (Australia), Match (Russia), Racing TV and Sky Sports Racing (UK, Republic of Ireland), Virgin Media 1 (Republic of Ireland), TVP (Poland), Dubai Racing Channel and Yas TV (UAE), and Sport 24 (cruise lines and air lines). It also headlined programming on CNN, Eurosport and Trans World Sport.
