Ladbrokes and Grupo Cirsa‘s Spanish sports betting joint-venture Sportium continues its directive on revamping horseracing as a wagering proposition for Spanish market consumers, announcing that it has launched Arena Racing Company’s ‘European Racing Channel’ across its entire retail network.
Expanding its existing broadcast agreement with ARC, Sportium’s + 3,000 betting point network will transmit European Racing Channel content, showcasing some +45,000 horse and greyhound racing events per year, featuring a 24-hour schedule with race meetings from the UK, Australia, North America and Asia.
Sportium states that it is taking horseracing content/broadcasting to a ‘level never seen before in the Spanish market’.
During the course of 2018, Sportium Chief Executive Alberto Eljarrat – a keen racing enthusiast – declared that Sportium would modernise horseracing as a sport, delivering new market options for Spanish betting consumers.
Commenting on the ARC agreement, Eljarrat stated: “We are delighted to continue to expand our horseracing offers at Sportium, we are already Spain’s racing leader, and thanks to this new agreement with ARC, we can present a powerful offer available from this week in all our terminals. Our alliance significantly reinforces our competitive advantage and market leadership.”
