GTECH wins Mexican lottery contract

lotteryLottery and gambling technology provider GTECH has secured a six year full service provisions contract with Pronósticos para la Asistencia Pública, the Mexican national online lottery operator.

The agreement will see GTECH supply the operator with a full range of provisions including draw based lottery terminals, communications networks and operational support systems. GTECH further announced that it would begin to its implementation of 11,000 lottery terminals for the operator.

GTECH estimates that the contract which will begin in September of this year, will expect to generate more than $130 million (€109 million

Jaymin Patel, Chief Executive officer of GTECH Americas, added: “GTECH is fully prepared to support Pronósticos’ growth strategy with a set of innovative solutions that offer the flexibility to adapt to changes in the industry and the demands of the Mexican marketplace, now and in the future.

“This agreement represents the continuation of our almost three-decades-long commitment to increasing Pronósticos’ returns, which support social programs in México.”

Pronósticos director general María Esther de Jesús Scherman Leaño commented on the partnership

“For the past 27 years, GTECH has supported Pronósticos in generating a sustainable and robust source of funding for social programs in México.The continuation of this long-term partnership will help to modernize Pronósticos’ lottery programme and launch the next phase of our growth for the benefit of the communities it serves.”
