Oddschecker has bolstered its marketing and foothold in the burgeoning US sports betting space, linking with Floyd Mayweather Jr for the National Football League (NFL) 2021 kick-off.
The Bruin Capital-owned odds comparison site plans to offer Super Bowl odds via its channels, enabling US sports fans to view and analyse predictions on NFL games, as more states open their markets to regulated wagering.
Under the terms of the partnership, the undefeated boxer will cooperate with the firm on its US-based initiatives, helping NFL fans ‘guide their decision making’.
“We are very excited to be partnering with a superstar like Floyd Mayweather,” said Matt Mirman, Senior Vice President, Oddschecker Global Media. “Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather is a winner in and out of the ring and we are thrilled to have our industry leading Odds Comparison tools assist him in his betting journey.”
For Oddschecker, the deal represents a significant expansion of its US operations after its £155 million acquisition by Bruin Capital from previous owner Flutter Entertainment – which had in turn took over the firm along with its operator, Sky Betting and Gaming.
“I’m happy to partner with Oddschecker for the NFL Kickoff,” Mayweather Jr remarked. “Oddschecker gives you the best odds, picks and promos for free so you can bet smarter.”
The US betting and gaming market continues to grow, with several states having already opened their jurisdictions to the sector and with many more in the process or preparing to do so.
According to research by the American Gaming Association (AGA), public opinion of the sector is also improving as the legalisation and regulation of the industry rolls out, with a total of two-thirds expressing a supportive view.
