FairPlay Sports revamps C-level leadership team for new global vision

FairPlay Sports Media (FPSM) has completed the reorganisation of its executive management team led by Group CEO Stuart Simms.

The announcement sees four new executives join the sports media network, which, during Q1 trading, completed its corporate rebrand from Oddschecker Global to FairPlay Sports.

Spearheading a new commercial strategy, FPSM welcomes Richard Gale as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Gale joined FPSM prior to its brand transformation in late 2023, from his previous role as VP Sports for Catena Media.

Gale’s CRO appointment is deemed “instrumental in refining the group’s commercial strategy,” across the enhanced brand portfolio of Oddschecker, WhoScored, SuperScommesse, and the Confido Network.

FPSM has bolstered the tech and innovation capacity of its enlarged network by the dual appointment of Kelly Brooks as Chief Product Officer (CPO) and Matt Robinson as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Brooks, the former founder and CEO of Quarter4 — the AI-modelling and sports analysis platform acquired by FPSM — is charged with enhancing FairPlay’s BetTech capabilities and manifesting Quarter4’s AI potential when integrated across all relevant products and components.

Matt Robinson, the former Head of Technology at Oddschecker Global, was promoted to CTO. A key appointment, Robinson’s track record was underscored by FPSM having led “technology growth of the organisation and expanding the team from seven to 100 across three regions”.

FPSM completes its C-level reorganisation by recruiting Niall Dore as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Dore adds two decades of senior financial experience in scaling both gaming and technology businesses within online gambling, including roles as Betfair’s Finance Director and, more recently, CFO of SaaS business Findmypast.

FPSM noted: “These four recent hires coalesce around FairPlay’s recent rebrand proposition of being a hugely scalable tech-first organisation that leverages its vast data assets with the latest in BetTech to bring about a better betting ecosystem for all.”

Group CEO Stuart Simms said of the new additions: “We’re in a unique position to deliver technical solutions and product enhancements that can make a real difference in the global betting space, and bringing Richard, Kelly, Matt, and Niall onto the team will help us execute our ambitious plans with accuracy and expediency.”
