UK online bookmaker Titanbet.co.uk gave Southampton’s army of travelling fans a free ride to St James’ Park to reward them for their loyalty this season.

Saints supporters watching their heroes beat Newcastle 2-1 on Saturday had to endure a gruelling 646 mile round trip to see two sides that are further apart than any other in the Premier League. But thanks to Titanbet UK 61 of them did so for free as part of their quest to give back to football fans.

The epic expedition to the North East of England kicked-off at Holton Heath at 5.30am to arrive in time for the start of the game 12 hours later and returned to Southampton at around 3.30am on Sunday morning!

Over the course of the season Saints fans travelling to every league away game will cover approximately 6,780 miles to watch their beloved club.

On this occasion supporters were able to enjoy a VIP experience as well as a special £25 free bet ahead of the Newcastle game. As the online bookmaker agreed to offer better odds than any of their rivals on Southampton’s first goalscorer.

Travel organiser Nick Gregory has even pledged to capture the experience on video for posterity.

Southampton Away Travel owner, Nick Gregory said: “January is always a tough month and Titanbet very generous gesture couldn’t have come at a better time. The Saints are flying and you never know whether we might be in the FA Cup final or even the Champions League next year!”

Titanbet.co.uk spokesman, Russell Yershon, said: “Our initiative is all about giving back to the supporters and what better way to do that than by putting on the transport for the long. Saints fans travel over land and sea to watch their side and we’re delighted to be able to help them on their quest – particularly ahead of pay day.”
