My ICE 2023: mkodo’s Will Whitehead

With ICE 2023 just days away, SBC News has been talking to some of the exhibitors to discover what they are planning for the show at ExCel London on 7-9 February.

In the hot seat today is Will Whitehead, Commercial Director of mkodo, who explains why the mobile and front-end technology specialist believes its new product can change perceptions about geolocation.

SBC: With the event returning to its full size and February slot following last year’s slightly-muted April affair, what are you looking forward to most at this year’s ICE?

Will Whitehead: We are very excited to see a full exhibition floor again. ICE remains one of the most important events of the year, bringing together global representatives from all sectors. This offers a great opportunity to share our know-how as well as expand our knowledge and is a great way to kickstart the year.

We look forward to meeting with our existing clients and forging new relationships and are excited to showcase the new products that we’ve been working on over the last year.

SBC: Do you think the industry is in better shape now because of the challenges previously faced?

WW: The last few years have for sure impacted everyone in one shape or form and the industry has had to adapt. I don’t think it is necessarily in a better shape, but it has certainly forced companies to focus more on their strategies, budgets and spending.

Most importantly, we have seen an increased emphasis on company culture, ensuring employees are offered an attractive workplace where they are truly valued and given a chance to develop and grow. This is something that has been important for us at mkodo and, as a result, we have grown significantly (by 40%) in the last two years.

2022 was a record-breaking year for us and we’re pushing for 2023 to be even bigger and better.

SBC: What do you intend to showcase at ICE London 2023?

WW: Our geolocation product GeoLocs will be our centrepiece at ICE. We have now launched it in Canada with a number of clients and see great potential as more markets regulate igaming.

Geolocation services are crucial to avoid regulatory pitfalls as operators employ a multi-jurisdictional approach and it’s an area of the industry that is often misunderstood, with many thinking it is more complex than it is. With GeoLocs, we aim to change that impression.

We will also display all our other products and services, such as our award-winning front end, apps, websites, and digital UX for the industry.
