Stephen Thornton & Richard Flint join Senet Group board

Industry independent watchdog, The Senet Group has announced the appointment of Stephen Thornton and Richard Flint to its board.

Former NHS executive Stephen Thornton will advise the industry body as an Independent Director. Thornton has over thirty years’ management experience working with political parties, charities and regulatory/policy organisations.

Commenting on the appointment Wanda Goldwag, Chair of Senet Group, said: “It is really valuable to have someone with Stephen’s strong health sector and operational background join the board at this time to help us in our endeavour to reduce gambling-related harm”.

This morning the Senet Group further announced that Sky Betting & Gaming (SB&G) CEO Richard Flint would had also been elected to its board. In February 2016, SB&G were announced as Senet Group members, becoming the organisations first independent online-only gambling operator.

At the time of joining Richard Flint, stated that SB&G leadership were committed to further promoting responsible gaming and higher standards for the UK betting industry.

Wanda Goldwag thanked SB&G further commitment to The Senet Group commenting

“I am also delighted that someone who represents online-only gambling is joining the board as we seek to promote on-line codes of conduct.”
