Horse Racing Tipster – January 27, Catterick

After a strange week at Lingfield last week, where all four tipsters won the same two races, SBC are looking to complete a ‘Tipster-table-topping’ hat-trick at Catterick! With a full card of six races, it looks set to be another exciting day of action.

This time we are taking on regular tipsters from BettingExpert and Timeform, plus guest tipster Declan Kelleher of Beanbagsports. Here is the full list of selections from our tipsters for each of the races, complete with a short explanation to support the pick.

Promising bumper winner has been found a great opening on hurdling debut and sure to be well prepared by Greatrex.

Timeform: Vinciaettis

Showed smart form when running away with a Plumpton bumper on debut for Warren Greatrex in November and looks an exciting hurdling prospect, so he is taken to make a winning start in this sphere at the main expense of Point The Way.

Won well on Boxing Day at Sedgefield and should contend here.

A two time chase winner, the 9 year old could still contend in this field.

BettingExpert: Veroce

Yard in good form and has been shaping well in defeat of late.

Timeform: Veroce

Didn’t fulfil market expectations when third at Carlisle last time but it was still a big step up on his previous form. Last year’s winner Over And Above is next best ahead of the returning Debt To Society.

Soft ground should suit despite top weight.

We’re backing Danny Cook on Forest Bihan, who arrives here in pretty good form.

BettingExpert: Forest Bihan

Class dropper can defy top weight with the booking of Danny Cook a big positive.

Timeform: Poulanassy

Progressing well and found plenty to regain the lead after a mistake 2 out when winning over C&D last time. Open to further improvement, has strong claims of landing the hat-trick.

Can and will defy the handicapper. Best horse in the race by a distance.

Looks to be a two way battle in a 3 horse field; Out Sam to edge out Major Ivan.

BettingExpert: Major Ivan

Consistent hurdler can make a winning chasing debut with Out Sam to beat.

Timeform: Out Sam

Made a perfectly satisfactory start to his chasing career in an Ascot Grade 2 last month and should be too strong for Major Ivan in what is effectively a match between the pair.

Second chasing start and should improve.

In form Nautical Twilight won on its last trip to Catterick just before Christmas.

BettingExpert: Nautical Twilight

Smooth traveller is on the up, has ideal conditions and can defy the handicapper.

Timeform: Nautical Twilight

In the form of his life and can land a hat-trick of wins over fences. Star Presenter is respected, while Aye Well returned to form when second at Musselburgh last time and can also make his presence felt.

Beanbagsports: Only Orsenfoolsies

Will like conditions and could have too much pace for the rest.

Finished in the top 4 in the last 6 races stretching back to October 2015. Surely due a win.

Keeps knocking on the door and can go close again here in a low grade handicap.

Timeform: Copt Hill

Has run well to place on the 4 previous occasions he’s been partnered by Brian Hughes and is taken to reverse last month’s Sedgefield form with Fiddler’s Flight and resume winning ways in first-time cheekpieces.

Beanbagsports: Deny

Tough race to call, but Deny has been consistent and could easily win here.
