Virgin Bet named headline sponsor of Musselburgh Easter Raceday

Virgin Bet has been announced as the headline sponsor for the Easter Saturday Raceday at Musselburgh Racecourse.

The upcoming event – taking place 30 March – will include the £100,000 Queen’s Cup as well as the Scottish Sprint Cup – the country’s fastest race.

Ric Leask, Marketing Director at Virgin Bet, highlighted: “We are thrilled to announce Virgin Bet as the headline sponsor for Easter Saturday Raceday at Musselburgh Racecourse.

“We are passionate about delivering an unparalleled sports betting experience, and there’s no better way to showcase this commitment than by supporting one of the biggest days of racing in the Scottish calendar.”

Leask detailed that Musselburgh ‘holds a special place in the hearts of racing enthusiasts’, admitting that the group is excited to be a part of the ‘excitement and tradition’ that the Easter Saturday Raceday brings.

Meanwhile, Aisling Johnston, Head of Marketing and Business Development at Musselburgh Racecourse, lauded Easter Saturday as one of the course’s biggest annual events, which has grown over the years and gained the royal seal of approval along the way.

“Virgin Bet coming on board is helping us to be even more ambitious with our plans, so that we can put on the perfect holiday weekend event for all manner of racegoers,” Johnston added.

Also this month in racing, Virgin Bet held its first-ever Women’s Day event – the latest social impact initiative from the operator, working towards a goal to create a more inclusive environment.

The event took place at the Virgin Bet Raceday on 9 March at Ayr Racecourse, where the day served as a platform to celebrate women in racing, and existed as part of Virgin Bet’s new brand purpose, ‘A Good Bet’.

This campaign focused on ways in which the brand can break down pre-existing barriers within sports and culture at large.

Reflecting on the event, the operator said on LinkedIn: “It was fantastic to be back at Ayr Racecourse last Saturday for the first-ever ‘Women’s Day’ sponsored by Virgin Bet.

“Here at Virgin Bet, we love showcasing the good people who make sport what it is. That’s why we partnered with the brilliant Natalie Pike for our inaugural Women’s Day on the weekend, which saw female legends of the sport come together for a panel event on inclusivity and accessibility in racing.”
