Bayes Esports rolls out live predictions for ESL CS tournament

Bayes Esports has enhanced its partnership with esports tournament host ESL FACEIT Group (EFG), which will now roll out Live Match Predictions.

The new tool aimed at enhancing the viewer experience during tournament broadcasts will leverage Bayes Esports’ data science team and will debut at the IEM Katowice Play-In Stage Counter-Strike (CS) tournament taking place between 7 and 9 February.

Already sold out and expected to host more than 11,000 esports fans at the Polish Spodek Arena, the event boasts a prize pool of $1.25m.

EFG will feed data into Bayes Esports which will then display the predictions alongside the match broadcast, increasing the engagement value of the event for spectators both in the arena and watching online.

Diving into the mechanics of Live Match Predictions, the audience will be able to tap into the probability percentages of the most likely winner for each map and the overall match.

Data feeds will also calculate the likelihood of overtime based on real-time updates from matches. The results automatically refine themselves to reflect the stage of each match.

Falko Wächter, EFG’s Senior Director of Partner Management and Brand Partnerships EMEA, commented: “At EFG, we are always looking for ways to push the boundaries of esports entertainment and make the experience as engaging as possible.

“Bayes Esports has consistently impressed us with its innovative tools powered by our data. Their dynamic Live Predictions not only enhance the viewing experience but also create new opportunities for our partners to connect with fans in real time. With seamless native integrations, brands can engage audiences in a way that feels natural and immersive.”

The broadcasting of the event will unlock significant brand awareness opportunities for sponsors, thanks to a total expected viewership of around one million fans.

Businesses will be able to tap into this through Bayes Esports’ predictions tool and the native ad space it offers. The additional ad space will also present EFG with extra revenue streams.

On the Bayes Esports and EFG collaboration, Ahilleas Papantos, Business Development Director of Bayes Esports, concluded: “Our partnership with EFG dates back to the early days of Bayes Esports, and together, we’ve continuously explored how data-driven tools can elevate their tournaments.

“Data has the power to transform the fan experience and keep them hooked to the screen every step of the way, before, during, and long after the final play. We have seen it time and time again in traditional sports so we are thrilled we can bring this level of excitement to esports.

“This is just the beginning of how data-driven insights can revolutionize esports broadcasts.”
