Amazon ups European Football profile launching ‘Napoli Brandstore’

SSC Napoli has become the first football club to launch an integrated ‘brandstore’ on the Amazon digital retail platform.

The move sees the Serie A side launch an official Amazon store portal, selling its club merchandise directly to Italy, France, Spain and the UK, with further markets expected to soon gain access to the SSC Napoli Brandstore’.

Updating the market, Napoli governance stated that its partnership with Amazon formed part of the club’s ‘international development directive’ partnering with the world’s largest digital retail operator.

Napoli’s deep integration with Amazon has caught the eye of business analysts who anticipate further sports club brand partnerships’ for the US Tech giant.

Furthermore, investment bank Morgan Stanley details that Amazon will likely become the US’ leading sports retailer this 2018, surpassing the sales of its land-based competitors.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis declared the partnership as ground-breaking for Serie A clubs, stating that Napoli had secured the most efficient global distribution channel for its merchandise and retail services.

Amazon, currently considered the world’s second most valuable company (market value: $777 billion) deepens its ties within European football.

Last June, Amazon agreed on a three-year deal to stream 20 Premier League games a season through its Amazon Prime OTT Platform.
