Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) will lead the platform supply for Inkabet, Peru’s top online sportsbook brand, enabling its expansion into new South American markets.
Betsson AB, the owner of Inkabet and technology partner of GiG since 2020, announced the partnership.
Betsson acquired Inkabet in 2021 for $25m to strengthen its South American portfolio.
GiG will upgrade Inkabet’s platform and operating systems as Peru reforms its online gambling laws and opens its market to competition.
In October 2023, the Peruvian senate approved iGaming casino and sports betting regulation, and Betsson obtained a license for the newly regulated market, covering online casino and sports betting for Inkabet.
Ronni Hartvig, Chief Commercial Officer at Betsson Group, said, “We are excited to strengthen our partnership with GiG by launching Inkabet on their platform. This collaboration aligns perfectly with our strategic goals and commitment to providing top-tier gaming experiences in regulated markets.
With GiG’s proven technology and deep expertise in Latin America, we are confident that Inkabet will achieve significant growth and success in Peru’s newly regulated iGaming landscape. We look forward to continuing our joint efforts to deliver exceptional value to our customers across the region.”
This month, Inkabet’s systems will migrate to a new technology platform as GiG continues its technology alliance with Betsson. This alliance covers live brands in eight markets across Europe and Latin America, with significant potential for further expansion.
James Coxon, Chief Operating Officer at GiG, said, “This partnership marks another milestone in our journey with Betsson, spanning multiple regulated markets. At GiG, we pride ourselves on fostering successful long-term partnerships.
Betsson’s trust in our capabilities is a testament to that. With our extensive experience in Latin America and cutting-edge technology, we’re confident that on GiG’s platform, Inkabet will drive exponential growth in Peru’s burgeoning iGaming market.”
