William Hill, industry innovation incubator WHLabs has detailed the upcoming launch of three in-house developed first iOS apps that will offer brand new ways for its customers to bet.
The free-to-download apps -– Cheer Me Up, Yes/No and Rapid, are currently being BETA tested. WHLabs management revealed that the apps are being launched to customers outside of the core sportsbook, under the WHLabs brand, in order to gather feedback from our customers and drive the next phase of William Hill app development. The apps, which will be available via the App Store in late 2015,
William Hill’s Jamie Hart, Director of Innovation and Customer Experience, said: “With a massive 3.7 million people a year now using either desktop or mobile to gamble, the appetite for mobile experiences is stronger than ever. As well as the “full fat” experience of our rich sportsbook, we think there’s value in offering these alternative opportunities to have a defined punt on something fun, fast and focused. Our WHLabs tech hub allows us to launch these products on a small scale and gather real world feedback. There will be plenty more to follow.”
WHLabs provided the following description for the upcoming iOS apps:-
- Yes/No – bringing a popular retail experience to online
An easy yet fun way to bet and a 33/1 pay-out if you’re correct, Yes/No offers a series of six questions regarding a match or event – but only with a Yes or No answer. Replicating the popular coupons found in our shops, Yes/No lets online customers easily get involved in major sporting occasions like the Rugby World Cup, oreven national TV events such as Eastenders’ “Who Killed Lucy?” storyline.
- Cheer Me Up – randomised instant betting
This simple yet clever roulette-style app was developed to give customers an instant football bet opportunity in any live game to enhance the spectator experience. Unlike standard sports bets, Cheer Me Up takes tricky decisions out of the equation by selecting a random match event – a goal, a goal kick or a corner – for customers to bet on, and then to cheer on. Regardless of who’s playing, if your match event happens first then you have a win to celebrate!
- Rapid – a fast yet personalised experience
