Igaming software provider Playtech posted a strong start to 2014 (period up to 31st of March 2014), reporting increased revenues of 17%.
Casino proved to be the software providers main performance driver, posting a 25.5% year on year uplift of €55.4 million / £ 45.6 million (2013 – €44.1 million). Playtech management stated that its strong casino performance had been driven by optimised B2B partnerships and new operators partnerships. Playtech have also successfully launched new casino gaming inventory during the period.
Playtech further posted increased revenues for sports betting services of €5.6 million / £4.6 million a 22% increase on 2013 figures. However the software provider witnessed a decrease in revenues generated from its poker (€3.8 million down 13.6%) and bingo (€4 million down 16.7%) verticals.
Playtech Chief Executive Mor Weizer commented on company performance “Over the first quarter we focused on operational progress in key areas that are an inherent part of our growth strategy; improving our Casino and Live offering, IMS and single wallet and Sports Betting capabilities,”.
