Sports betting news source and player bookmaker review website BookMakersReview.com has reported that “Domain King” Rick Schwartz (pictured left) has sold domain URL – Ebet.com for a staggering sum of $1.35M to a new Filipino owner.
The domain Ebet.com was purchased and registered Rick Schwartz by in 1996 at wholesale price from a Domain registry such as Godaddy.com or 123reg.com, with Schwartz only having to pay minimal annual renewal. The sale of this domain to a new owner is thought to be one of the biggest sums paid for a betting/igaming domain.
After running a Who.is domain and URL check, the sports betting news source found the new registrant to be a certain Rachel Rueda from the Makati City Manila. BookMakersReview.com asked the new registrant if she could be interviewed about her recent purchase but the owner turned down the offer.
BookMakersReview.com speculates whether the domain purchase has been carried out by any igaming companies that are currently using the terms ebet for branding and product coverage.
The news sources studies whether the new owner is in any way associated with the eBET limited (ebetgroup.com), a gaming slots machine vendor with strong ties in the Asian gaming market, or US focused sports betting eBet USA (ebetusa.com) owned by Penn National Gaming. Finally the news report additionally speculates that the new owners could be tied to igaming conglomerate Sportech, as part of its igaming division eBet technologies (ebetonline.com)
Time will tell who has made this incredible domain purchase.
