Zemanta Related Posts ThumbnailFollowing a full corporate re-brand and the dissolving of Spielo G2 / GTech G2 igaming divisions, GTech have announced the appointment of Matteo Monteverdi as Senior Vice President of of GTech iGaming Division. Matteo Monteverdi will now oversee igaming capabilities and strategy for GTech, taking over responsibilities from Walter Bugno, who becomes president and CEO of GTECH International.

Mr Monteverdi who previously held the position of President of Interactive and betting for Lottomatica Italy, will work with GTech London offices as the company looks to expand its digital services in new regulated markets, Monteverdi will also head up GTech’s current strategy of targeting partnerships with state owned gaming purveyors.

GTech have recently undertaken strategic overhaul that has witnessed many strategic changes and a reorganization of the business. The company has finally merged its Lottomatica Lottery services with igaming division Spielo G2, to become GTech. GTech plans to become a leader in igaming technology service supplies. GTech igaming division will consist of former igaming product suppliers Finsoft (betting), St Minver (Bingo), Dynamite Idea (Slots) and Boss Media (Casino & Poker).

As Senior Vice President of of GTech iGaming Division  Matteo Monteverdi will look to make GTech igaming products competitive, as the company looks to compete with top tier igaming technology providers Playtech and Microgaming.

GTech have struggled to make a positive impact in the igaming sector, losing customers and key accounts as a technology supplier. The company has seen a drop in its level of player liquidity on its bingo and poker services. Popular igaming operators have chosen not to take up the companies range of casino and games services, opting for competitor services offered by Playtech and Microgaming.

Furthermore the company has yet to release mobile technologies and applications for its digital services, which has led igaming industry commentators to believe that GTech are behind the curve in terms of it’s digital and innovation capabilities.

The recent strategic changes undertaken by GTech International CEO Walter Bugno aimed to converge GTech and Lottomatica services, in order to make the company competitive and appealing in a digital igaming space.
