São Paulo-based operator Betsul has officially joined the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA).
The move emphasises the protection of regulated sports betting markets from match-fixing, reinforcing transparency and good practices in the sector.
Fernando Garita, CEO of Betsul, highlighted: “We know that this moment marks an important step forward in creating a safer and more transparent sports betting environment.
“As operators, we remain committed to international best practices and determined to protect our customers and the Brazilian market against fraud and match-fixing.”
In addition to Betsul, IBIA maintains strategic information-sharing partnerships with leading sports bodies, including FIFA, UEFA, ITIA, IOC and several gambling regulators. Through the Monitoring & Alert Network tool, the organisation monitors and reports suspicious activities.
The deal with Betsul represents a ‘strategic step forward’ in strengthening the Brazilian betting market, which is currently undergoing a regulatory process aligned with new legal requirements after its official launch at the start of the year.
“We are very pleased that Betsul has become a member of IBIA, joining a growing list of licensed operators in Brazil committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity,” added Khalid Ali, CEO of the IBIA.
“This partnership extends the reach of our world-class betting integrity monitoring network, supporting efforts to protect the newly regulated Brazilian online sports betting market.”
“We look forward to working closely with the company to protect its customers and sports betting businesses from the threats of betting-related corruption.”
Notably, last Summer, the IBIA urged the rest of Latin America to take note of Brazil’s match-fixing tackling rulebook.
The country issued an ordinance that required all operators willing to partake in the market to become members of an independent integrity monitoring body.
