DAZN has revealed a new media deal with media technology solutions firm, LTN.
Looking to boost its engagement within the betting sector beyond the activities of its sportsbook, DAZN Bet, the brand will work on delivering live content from major international football competitions to betting audiences and commercial partners in Germany.
Meanwhile, the deal will utilise LTN’s automated linear channel creation and playout technologies to support DAZN’s delivery of 11 low latency, live streaming channel variants to 1,000 betting locations and to Amazon Prime Video, its distribution partner platform.
Chris Myers, LTN EVP, Chief Revenue Officer, commented: “DAZN spearheads innovative linear channel creation and distribution strategies to engage new audiences with fan-first streaming experiences on any platform.
“Our unique partnership helps DAZN cost-efficiently scale its business with an ultra-flexible, easy-to-operate system that brings the biggest live events to fast-growing audiences with low latency transmission. We’re proud to support DAZN’s journey as it expands across new markets and drives global viewership.”
Germany has been one of DAZN’s core markets for some time, and is a particularly significant market for its DAZN Bet sportsbook proposition. Germany was the fourth country the sportsbook went live in, following the UK, Spain and Italy, in that order.
Meanwhile, DAZN is a key media partner of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2, Germany’s first and second division football leagues. In the latest media rights renewal, the German Football League (DFB) agreed a renewal of its media rights deal yesterday, naming DAZN the rights holder of a number of fixtures.
The deal with LTN further solidifies the company’s position in Germany by delivering content from major international football competitions to prominent local sportsbooks like TIpico and Bet3000. DAZN will begin to deliver a pop-up linear channel this winter which will feature up to eight concurrent matches, delivered to its distribution partners.
Bernd Brunner, DAZN Head of Linear Channel, added: “We serve sports fans wherever they are with engaging, unique live experiences. In-play wagering involves incredibly demanding streaming requirements — fans enjoying the game from their local betting shops need to know their stream is as close to real-time as possible.
“LTN enables low latency from ingest to playout and distribution — and they understand how to provide simple, scalable, reliable services that our team can operate from anywhere. We see LTN as a partner for growth that helps us increase value and reach more audiences with exceptional sports content.”
