Betfred welcomes Nick Cockerill as new Product Officer

Stats Perform’s former VP of Product, Nick Cockerill, has been appointed as the new Chief Product Officer at Betfred

In his new role, Cockerill will enhance the bookmaker’s online business and aid the brand’s transformation towards a technology-first organisation.

Joanne Whittaker, Betfred’s CEO, said: “Nick joins with a wealth of experience and has an excellent track record in the sector. His appointment is key to our huge ambitions for Betfred.”

The new CPO joins with more than 10 years of experience at hand, having previously taken senior product and technology roles in the sports betting and igaming industry with companies like Sky Betting & Gaming, Pokerstars International and Flutter.

During his time with Sky Betting & Gaming, Cockerill helped the company’s Core and Payments product teams during a period of growth between 2014 and 2018 – supporting the expansion process with the opening of a new office in Sheffield. After the business was acquired by Pokerstars, he took on the role of Product and Design Team Lead.

Cockerill’s stint at Stats Perform began in 2021, where he quickly gained a central role in the launch of the ‘Instant Highlights’ offering – going as far as winning the SBC Innovation in Mobile Award in 2023.

Before joining the industry, Cockerill held roles with Adidas and Asda Walmart in the commercial and online trading space.
