DAZN extends Bundesliga coverage in Spain until 2029

DAZN has announced that it is extending the Bundesliga’s coverage in Spain until the 2028/29 season.

The four-year broadcast agreement, signed with Bundesliga International, gives DAZN exclusive rights to stream Bundesliga, Bundesliga 2, the DFL Supercup and relegation play-offs beginning with the 2025/26 season.

This partnership will allow fans in Spain to watch key games from Germany’s top two football divisions live and on demand. Additionally, they will have access to match highlights and various localised programming.

Bosco Aranguren, Managing Director of DAZN Spain, commented: “We are delighted to announce this new agreement that adds the Bundesliga to our exceptional offering.”

“Starting this season, fans will be able to enjoy the best experience on DAZN with LALIGA EA SPORTS, the Premier League, Serie A and the Bundesliga, as well as Liga F and Women’s Champions League; making our platform the reference destination for all lovers of the best football in the world.”

Although the new deal officially starts in 2025, DAZN subscribers in Spain will get exclusive access to the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 for the 2024/25 season through a sub-licensing arrangement with Movistar.

This year, DAZN has been actively expanding its football coverage across Europe. Notably, the streaming platform has entered the UK market by acquiring the broadcast rights for the National League System, which includes the fifth and sixth tiers of English football.

In Spain, DAZN has also announced that it will hold the rights to broadcast the Premier League from the 2025/26 season through to the 2027/28 season, in addition to this new Bundesliga deal.

Peer Naubert, Chief Marketing Officer of Bundesliga International, added on the new deal: “Spain is an important market and a country – like Germany – where football means everything.

“We are pleased to be working with DAZN across many markets internationally and will now work together to continue to bring ‘Football As It’s Meant To Be’ to fans throughout Spain.”
