BetUK to appear on Blackburn kit in Newcastle FA Cup clash

BetUK has been named Blackburn Rovers sleeve sponsor for tonight’s FA Cup fifth-round match against Newcastle United.

Taking place at Ewood Park, the LeoVegas-owned operator’s branding is set to be present on Blackburn’s kit as they play against the Premier League side – broadcast on BBC One and via BBC iPlayer

Sam Behar, Director of UK, Ireland, and Sponsorships at LeoVegas Group, commented: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Blackburn Rovers ahead of this exciting ‘Alan Shearer derby’ against Newcastle United.

“It’s going to be a fantastic game, and we can’t wait to see the BetUK logo on the Rovers’ sleeve as they take on the Magpies.”

Between the two clubs, they have won ten FA Cups, with Rovers lifting the trophy six times and Newcastle winning the world’s oldest football competition on four occasions.

Last season, Rovers reached the FA Cup quarter-finals, and this will be the first time the two sides have met in the competition since January 2019.

“We are delighted to welcome BetUK on board as our sleeve sponsors for Tuesday night’s FA Cup fifth-round tie under the Ewood Park lights against Premier League opposition,” added Steve Waggott, Blackburn Rovers Chief Executive.

“There have been some fantastic matches in the past between Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United, and we are looking forward to the game, which will be broadcast to millions all over the world.

“The FA Cup is steeped in tradition, and is considered one of the most prestigious competitions in World football, and we thank BetUK for showing their support for Blackburn Rovers by being our sleeve partner for the game.”

The Championship club – sat 16th in the table – currently has Spreadex as its UK betting partner.

This three-year deal, announced in July 2023, sees the operator have signage in the Jack Walker Stand and digital advertising around Ewood Park.
