Global sports and entertainment platform DAZN has announced that it is going to broadcast all tournaments on the DP World Tour.
The new media rights partnership will see the golfing competition bolster its distribution in the DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) region.
DAZN will now have co-exclusive live subscription OTT rights, alongside Sky Germany, with the first tournament available to customers will be this week’s Porsche European Open in Hamburg.
Richard Bunn, Managing Director of European Tour Productions, said: “DAZN are growing their golf coverage – tapping into growing consumer demand as golf’s popularity continues to rise – and we are delighted that they have focused on the DP World Tour for their first venture into men’s professional golf.
“Together we can further bolster the coverage we are offering our fan base across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.”
This agreement has also seen DAZN secure the rights to broadcast delayed highlights of the 2023 Ryder Cup, which takes place from 29 September to 1 October at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome.
DAZN will also be showcasing features on ‘golf’s greatest team contest’ in the build up to the event.
In April, DAZN’s hopes of ending the EFL’s 3pm blackout were shattered as Sky Sports was selected to continue to show the EFL after being named the ‘preferred bidder for 2024 onwards.’
Sky Sports has held the live rights to the league since 2002, but its partnership recently became uncertain with the EFL revealing that it was open to ‘new ideas and partners’.
