Kambi opens first sportsbook in Nebraska with WarHorse Gaming

Stockholm-listed technology group Kambi has linked with WarHorse Gaming to launch the first sportsbook in the Cornhusker State.

WarHorse Gaming – a division of Ho-Chunk and a commercial entity regulated by the Nebraska Racing Gaming Commission – aids the betting service provider in further enhancing its US footprint.

The pair have outlined that the long-term deal will see an initial launch occur at WarHorse Casino Lincoln in the next few weeks.

Kristian Nylén, Kambi CEO and Co-Founder, said: “We are delighted to sign this partnership with WarHorse Gaming to provide leading on-property sports betting solutions to the operator’s properties in the state of Nebraska.

“As sports betting continues to expand across the US, we are proud to launch the first sportsbook in Nebraska and to power another market-first for one of our partners.”

The Kambi sportsbook at WarHorse Casino Lincoln will complement 400 slot machines, which will swell to approximately 1,100 under the aforementioned phase two, along with simulcast and live thoroughbred racing.

“WarHorse is excited to partner with Kambi to launch Nebraska’s first sportsbook,” added Lance Morgan, CEO of Ho-Chunk. “Kambi’s industry-leading platform will enhance the gaming experience WarHorse offers for our guests.”

In addition, both of the aforementioned gaming establishments will feature Kambi’s on-property sportsbook technology, including the Kambi kiosk, Bring Your Own Device technology and Bet Builder product.

This week, Kambi has also announced that its board repurchased 106,976 shares between 3-9 May as part of its approved share buyback programme.

The shares of the company were bought at an average price of SEK199.04 (£15.42/€17.77) per share. The aim of the buyback was to provide capital to its shareholders and give the board flexibility concerning the company’s capital structure.

The acquisitions were made on Nasdaq First North Growth Market in Stockholm by Carnegie Investment Bank AB on behalf of Kambi.
