Genius Sports drives new revenues for Taiwan football

Genius Sports has secured an official data, streaming and integrity partnership with the Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA) – the data rights holder of Taiwan football.

The four-year agreement covers the CTFA competitions including the Taiwan Football Premier League (TFPL), the Taiwan Mulan Football League (TMFL) and the Taiwan Football League Second Division.

Head of Customer Success, APAC of Genius Sports, Jagdish Singh, commented: “We’re proud to enter this wide-ranging partnership with the Chinese Taipei Football Association, providing our proven official data, streaming, competition management and integrity solutions.

“Our technology will be central to their strategy to drive new revenues, engage fans and protect their competitions.”

The technology company will provide the governing body with its sports data insights and technology to enhance fan experiences and assist the CTFA in commercialising its sports data and promoting streaming content globally.

To drive the CTFA’s digital transformation, Genius Sports will also provide the FIFA Competition Management System, used across world football for streaming, for example, fixture generation and building official records.

Deputy General Secretary of CTFA, Liang-Chen Chen, added: “This is a giant step for us in modernising our domestic leagues and maintaining our sports integrity. With the experience of Genius Sports, we can deliver higher quality content to our fans.”

This week, the Canadian Football League (CFL) also partnered with Genius Sports as the pair now look to evolve the viewer experience for the next CFL Game Zone ahead of the upcoming 2023 campaign.
