Betsson AB has celebrated the full launch of its ‘operations centre’ in Bogota, Colombia, to support its ongoing expansion across South American markets.
The Stockholm-listed online gambling group completes a further 2022 corporate objective, launching the Bogota centre to support its existing brands and partnerships active in the markets of Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil.
Present at the launch, Group CEO Jesper Svenson commented: “Latin America is a special region for us, so I am especially happy about the opening of this operations centre in Bogota.
“I’m confident that, thanks to the talent present in the company, we will continue our progressive growth in the region and contribute to the development of an industry based on responsible entertainment.”
Of significance, Betsson holds the highest LatAm online gambling market presence, having invested in South American launches since 2018 – undertaken as a strategic directive of the firm’s ‘Back-on-Track’ transformation programme.
The firm’s regional growth has been driven by the earnings effective M&As and investments of ColBet Colombia, Inkabet Peru and the Suaposta racebook for Brazil’s imminent launch of its online gambling and sports betting regimes.
Key partnerships include Big Bola Casinos in Mexico and Colo Colo FC in Chile, whilst Betsson serves as the official sponsor of the professional football league in Peru and of the Women’s and Men’s CONMEBOL Copa America.
Regional success was highlighted in the third quarter of 2022, as Betsson achieved an “organic growth of 35% thanks to the Latin American, Central and Eastern European and Central Asian markets.
Evert Montero Cardenas, President of Colombian trade association Fecoljuegos, welcomed Betsson’s operations in Bogota, strengthening Colombia as a leading regulated jurisdiction for online gambling in South America.
