VBET becomes latest IBIA operator member

The International Betting Integrity Association’s (IBIA) membership has been further enhanced, as VBET becomes the latest operator to join its ranks.

VBET will now feed into the IBIA’s global betting integrity monitoring and alert platform, bolstering the association’s international scope due to the firm holding licences in jurisdictions such as Great Britain, Malta, France and Sweden, whilst also currently awaiting the outcome of additional licence applications.

The IBIA’s members collectively account for over $137 billion (€115bn) in global betting turnover per annum and nearly 50% of all regulated commercial operator online betting activity.

Tigran Harutyunyan, Head of Trading and Sports Unit at VBET, remarked: “We are delighted to be joining the membership of the International Betting Integrity Association and we look forward to our mutual collaboration.

“We offer markets on over 120 sports globally, so helping to maintain the integrity of the sporting events we offer to our customers is vital. The IBIA’s global reputation for dealing with sport integrity issues is unparalleled and this partnership underlines our commitment to providing our customers with the fairest offering possible.”

The addition of VBET to the IBIA’s global membership marks the second expansion of its ranks this month after igaming operator ComeOn Group joined the association last week.

Other new members this year include Jack’s Casino and Sports and BetCity.nl, which bolstered the IBIA’s standing in the newly regulated Dutch online betting and gaming market.

Further developments saw the organisation cooperate heavily with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) during the Beijing Winter Olympics and sign a MoU with Colombia’s Federation of Entrepreneurs of Games of Luck and Chance (FECOLJUEGOS).

Publishing its report for 2021, the IBIA revealed that the number of betting alerts recorded last year fell by 13% to 239 from the 2020 figure of 270, part of a ‘consistent’ trend that has seen the average number of alerts stand at 240 between 2018 and 2020.
