Betsson begins US journey in Colorado

Betsson AB has debuted its first US market property, launching the Betsafe sportsbook app in the state of Colorado.

Entering the US market, Betsson stated that it had built a US-customized sportsbook to support Betsafe’s partnership with Colorado’s Dostal Alley Casino.

The Stockholm-listed online gambling group has opened an office in Downtown Denver and has moved to support its regional B2B operations with the appointment of a Managing Director already in place.

Updating stakeholders, Betsson revealed that it was reviewing further state launches that will be supported by the group’s “GLI 33 certification, issued by Gaming Laboratories International for the sportsbook in Colorado – something which is also necessary to operate in several states.”

Betsafe will become the ninth online sportsbook to be licensed by the State of Colorado, which has operated its sportsbook wagering regime since May 2020.

“The launch of our proprietary sportsbook in the US is an important milestone,“ said Pontus Lindwall, CEO and President of Betsson AB.

“We are entering a new continent, expanding Betsson’s global reach and further solidifying our B2B and B2C ambitions, thanks to many months of hard work by our product and technology teams to craft a product customised for the U.S. market.”
