Sportradar appoints Bimson to oversee betting, sports and marketing growth

Sportradar has hired Andrew Bimson as Chief Operating Officer in North America in a bid to expand its betting & gaming, sports entertainment and ad:s (marketing services) operations.

The NYSE-listed, Swiss-based sports technology company has stated that Bimson will be reporting to Arne Rees, Sportradar North America’s CEO, and has a wealth of experience in the industry.

Rees commented: “Andrew joins Sportradar at an important time as the North America market is primed for significant growth and remains a key focus of Sportradar’s overall strategic plan.

“His role in partnering with our leaders to articulate this vision, align teams around it, and create meaningful KPIs to measure our progress will be critically important. I have no doubt his work will touch all our North America teams and I look forward to him getting to know our talent.”

Having had experience as a Global Business Executive, Bimson joins Sportradar from Bloomberg LP, where he spent the last ten years in a number of senior management roles, most recently as the Global Head of Business Marketing Operations and Analytics.

On his new role, Bison stated: “Sportradar is right at the center of where sports, data and technology intersect. As the market leader of enhancing sports fan engagement, I’m excited to join Sportradar and lead our talented teams who are revolutionising the rapidly growing sports betting and entertainment industry in the US.”

Throughout his more than 20-year career, Bimson has worked with numerous Fortune 500 companies and global brands, helping to achieve over $750M in revenue by placing data and analytics at the core of his sales, marketing and operations.

Furthermore, the new hire’s international experience has also created further relationships across a broad network of contacts and industries.

In a further US-facing role, last week the company also appointed Jim Brown, an experienced National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) executive, to oversee its North American sports integrity operations.

As the Head of Integrity Services & Harm Prevention in North America, Brown now reports to Sportradar Integrity Services’ Managing Director Andreas Krannich, whilst leveraging his experience in risk management, strategy development, business process evaluation and design and sports wagering risk mitigation.
