Kambi restructures commercial team with Entain appointment

Kambi Group Plc has restructured its business development unit after appointing former Entain Plc commercial lead Jamie McKittrick as new VP of Commercial Management alongside the promotion of Sarah Robertson to VP of Sales.

A 20-year industry executive, McKittrick will be responsible for managing the Stockholm-listed group’s commercial arrangements with third-parties, including formulation and oversight of data partnerships.

Robertson, meanwhile, will take the lead role in coordinating Kambi’s global sales operations. The new VP previously served as Senior Sales Director, and prior to joining Kambi in 2018 had acquired seven years experience at Income Access.

The new appointees will report to Cecillia Watchmeister, EVP and Head of Business and Group Functions, who welcomed the new promotions to the company, which recently reported a record opening to 2021 in its Q1 trading update.

“We’re excited to welcome Jamie to Kambi and are confident his vast knowledge and experience will enable us to realise greater value for Kambi and our partners from all our commercial partnerships,” Watchmeister remarked.

“Coupled with the deserved promotion of Sarah, I believe the commercial organisation is in great hands as we look to make the most of the many exciting opportunities that lay ahead of us.”

The reorganisation, follows the decision of Group CCO Max Meltzer to vacate his position in the summer, moving on to a CEO role at an as-yet unnamed iGaming firm.

Writing on Linkedin, Meltzer said: “This summer, I leave Kambi after five years service. I’m excited to very soon share the news of the iGaming platform I’ll lead as CEO. Thank you those of you who have reached out to wish me good luck with this news, I’ll certainly be in touch with you soon.”

During his five year tenure as CFO, Meltzer notably assisted with overseeing Kambi’s successful US expansion, where the company accepted the first ever legal online sports wager in the state of New Jersey, fast becoming one of the most active betting jurisdictions in the country.

Commenting on Meltzer’s planned departure, Wachtmeister said: “While we are disappointed Max is leaving us this summer, he’s been presented with a fantastic opportunity and we wish him all the best. And although he’s leaving Kambi, Max will remain in the industry, so I’m sure we’ll keep in close contact.”
