Paddy Power: Piers won’t be out for too long!

Piers Morgan sensationally walked off the Good Morning Britain (GMB) studio yesterday, after which his formal departure from the UK’s most-watched morning TV show was announced by ITV bosses.

Yet updating its TV and entertainment markets, Paddy Power believes it won’t be too long before ‘Piers is back on Old Blighty screens’.

The controversial presenter has been priced at odds-on 4/6  (60% chance) to become a frontman of the soon to be launched GB News network – a new Conservative TV station led by Andrew Neil, which has been branded as ‘FOX News for Tory Britannia’.

Paddy Power has also short-priced Morgan at 11/10 to become one of Alan Sugar’s sidekicks on a future series of The Apprentice – as Morgan maintains a close but fraught relationship with Sir Alan.

Meanwhile, media speculation grows as to who will replace Morgan on GMB’s set.

Early Paddy Power market pricings see ITV veteran Richard Madeley (5/2) lead the GMB presenters pack, ahead of Alex Beresford (6/1) who called Morgan out on the show yesterday, and Ben Shepard (6/1) who is already a show anchor.

Market outsiders include Eamonn Holmes and Trisha Goddard (both 10/1), Bill Turnbull (12/1), Sean Fletcher (14/1),  and Rylan Clark-Neal (20/1).

Gary Lineker, who was trending on Twitter last night after defending Piers, is rated 33/1 to actually take on the role the latter vacated.

Spokesman Paddy Power said: “It’s good news for Piers Morgan fans, as we don’t think it’s going to be very long at all until he’s back on our screens.

“GB News is the most likely destination for his next role, but could he actually join friend and sparring partner Alan Sugar on The Apprentice instead?”
