bwin has announced the renewal of its sponsorship agreement with this season’s Europa League winners Atlético Madrid.
The fresh agreement means that the partnership will continue for at least two more seasons through to the 2020 season.
The GVC owned online betting brand will retain its status as the club’s official online gaming and betting partner, with the operator continuing to benefit from branding placement on advertising boards during games at Atlético’s Wanda Metropolitano stadium.
Pablo Ferreira, head of marketing at bwin, said: “The association of bwin with Atlético de Madrid is in good health and for us it was a priority to ensure its continuity.
“We could not have chosen a better time to announce this renewal now that we celebrate the third Europa League win for the team; we hope to continue growing and making history with Atleti for many more years.”
The relationship between bwin and Atletico Madrid has gone from strength to strength since it commenced last February, with the pair working together on a variety of initiatives.
bwin also recently unveiled its Hollywood style World Cup marketing campaign, ‘Who Stole the Cup?’ The campaign is produced by Spanish director Pedro Martin-Calero and features football legends Maradona, Cafu and Stefan Effenburg, alongside former Real Madrid manager, Vicente del Bosque.
It will run across bwin core territories of Germany, Austria, Greece, Spain, Italy, France, UK, Belgium, Denmark and Sweden, with bookmaker releasing behind-the-scenes interviews on bwin.com
The campaign has been developed by international creative agency BBH Sport and will form part of its wider ‘Live the Action’ brand marketing initiatives.
