Paddy Power appoints Joe Lee as Head of Trump Betting

Following an extensive search, Irish bookmaker Paddy Power has named Joe Lee as its Head of Trump Betting.

Last April, due to growing demand in Donald Trump related wagers, Paddy Power announced publically that it would hire a Head of Trump Betting. The bookmaker even recruited Trump ally Nigel Farage to help fill-in its much-needed vacancy.

Paddy Power informed that Lee, an experienced betting market trader, will serve the role ‘as long as Donald Trump remains President’.

The bookmaker reiterated its position that Trump betting markets were no laughing matter. Last February Paddy Power launched a specific hub for Trump bets, in which the bookmaker services over 100 dedicated markets for ‘The Donald’.

On the appointment of Joe Lee as Head of Trump Betting, Paddy Power is adamant that it will recoup it’s +£4 million paid-out to political punters for Trump’s US 2016 Election victory.

Speaking to The Sun Newspaper on his new role, Joe Lee stated: ”There’s no one in the world like Donald Trump and people are fascinated by him. He is far more popular than Brexit was with the betting public.

“If Trump is qualified to do that, then I don’t think any other job or candidate can be seen as ridiculous.”
