Manchester City have regained the faith of the betting public after their shaky couple of results against West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur, according to data from AccaTracker, the mobile app developed by Team FA that helps users keep on top of their multiple football bets.
City’s home match against Bournemouth is the most selected game in punters’ accumulators this weekend, which is unusual for featuring all the league’s biggest teams in action on the Saturday. City aside though, AccaTracker users are ignoring the bigger sides in favour of betting on the game between Leicester City and Southampton. One of the bigger matches of the weekend doesn’t even make the top ten, with new Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s first taste of Premier League football at White Hart Lane presumably suffering in popularity only because it is an early kick off.
Team FA marketing director Tim Pindar said: “Looking deeper into the data throws up some interesting choices from the AccaTracker community. Despite Leicester’s stronger position on the table there is a lot of money for Southampton to win the match at St Mary’s.
“There is also a bit of a surge in the both teams to score (BTTS) market for Chelsea’s match against Aston Villa. Tim Sherwood’s side hasn’t exactly been blowing teams away with their attacking prowess, so maybe it’s more of a comment on how the Chelsea defence has been operating in recent weeks. Ivanovic was injured on international duty this week, but that could actually help Chelsea if you listen to their fans.
“In the Championship, Middlesbrough are strong people’s favourites at home to Fulham.”
