European operators eye up Spanish market entry

spainslotHaving closed its application window on 9 December, La Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ) Spain’s gambling regulator disclosed that it had received general applications for licences from a twelve European igaming operators.

Industry news source EGR Magazine, has reported that sports betting operators Eurobet and Betclic Everest are amongst the twelve applicants who have applied for general licences.

If granted approval by the DGOJ, Gala Coral European betting subsidiary brand will return to the Spanish igaming market, four years after exiting.

Although listed in the twelve applicants, French Operator Betclic Everest have yet to publically confirm whether they will enter the Spanish online gambling market. However market entry appears likely as it would fit Betclic corporate strategy

The sports betting operators are set to be joined by igaming software supplier NetEnt and Novomatic Group, who have applied to enter the Spanish market as the DGOJ have allowed slots play services to its online gambling framework.
