William Hill has slashed its odds on a white Christmas to odds on, its shortest since 2010.UK weather forecasts have predicted that Scotland and the North East of England have a strong possibility of being hit by blanket of snow in the coming days.
Of the 15 cities that William Hill offer odds on, it is the Scottish locations of Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow that have the shortest odds – all 3/1 to see snow.
The UK’s other capital cities are 5/1 (Belfast), 6/1 (Cardiff) and 6/1 (London).
William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly said: “In 2010 there was a sustained cold snap before Christmas Day which culminated in a number of stations around the country seeing snow and us paying out quite a sum of money to our festive punters.
“We now think that there will be a couple of places that will see snow this Christmas. It is even money that snow falls somewhere on Christmas Day this year.”
