Gibraltar based sports betting operator BetVictor has announced the appointment of Andreas Meinrad as new Chief Executive Officer. Meinrad joins Betvictor operations having served as Chief Commercial Officer for bwin.party.
The operator informed its staff of the appointment, Meinrad is set to join BetVictor operations in 1 February 2015.
Meinrad has held numerous senior management positions at bwin.party sports betting operator Bwin, which he joined in 2008. Meinrad has a deep knowledge of sports and commercials operations having worked for international brands such as Nike and Red bull.
Commenting on his appointment, Meinrad said he was extremely excited to be joining BetVictor.
“It is a great brand with a very good reputation among its users and with a fantastic opportunity for growth in the future given the investment and strategic vision of the owner,” he explained. “I am sure that my experience in the sector as well as outside of the industry, coupled with my passion for sports and betting, will help us fulfil the untapped potential of the business.”
Meinrad replaces Michael Carlton, who left the operator after more than a decade, along with chairman and founder Victor Chandler in May this year.
