William Hill has strengthened its player protection initiatives by launching a social media age verification filter.
The operator has launched its new initiative to coincide with new changes to UK gambling laws, as the bookmaker aims to promote responsible gaming and best practice throughout its operations.
William Hill will monitor engagement on social media channels to ensure that the operator does not engage and communicate with underage users. William Hill will roll out the filter initially on its Twitter feed
William Hill Regulatory Director Andrea Macqueen commented on the new player initiative
“Age verification, disclosure, and consumer protection is paramount across our entire business, and over the last few years has become even more important within our owned digital IP channels such as our apps and website”
“Our age verification processes are robust, and now Twitter’s age screening tool will help to ensure we are engaging with age appropriate audiences across social media too,”
