Strategic partnerships between UK news publishers and igaming operators continue as Paddy Power announced the proposed launch of sports betting app with Trinity Mirror Plc the publishing company for the Daily Mirror and the Sunday People.
Paddy Power continues the recent trend in UK sports betting that has seen The Sun announce a Partnership with BetVictor and The Guardian online launch a sports betting platform with FSB technology.
However the Irish sports betting operator will not launch a white-label solution with the newspaper publisher, instead the agreement will see the Paddy Power’s brand covered throughout the mobile product. It will be clear to all customers who use the Daily Mirror sports betting app that their bets will be wagered with Paddy Power betting markets.
Former Boylesports product manager Conor Durnim, who joined Trinity Mirror as technical project manager will be in charge of the partnership. Paddy Power will look to leverage Trinity Mirror’s online sports content and gain further engagement with UK sports fans.
In April 2014, Trinity Mirror announced a special partnership with the Racing Post to launch a horse racing website, which would act as an affiliate site for its readers.
