Gambling harm prevention organisation Better Change has appointed Lee Willows to its Board of Directors as a Non-Executive Director.
Willows’ will work to incorporate his three-decades experience in education and lived experience of problem gambling into his new role, having founded the Young Gambler’s Education Trust (YGAM) in 2014, serving as Chief Executive of the organisation until October of this year.
Additionally, the new hire was the Founder and Managing Director of YGAM’s corporate training service provider YGAM Innovation Limited, and is currently the Executive Chair and Founder of ESG Gaming, a non-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC).
Upon leaving YGAM two months ago, Willows detailed that the charity had entered its ‘third strategic cycle’ which would see it expand its safer gambling training services with BetKnowMore UK.
Commenting on his new role, he remarked: “It is a real privilege to be signing up for the gifted group at Superior Adjust. Its Founder and I have acknowledged each and every other for numerous decades and what I am significantly amazed by is Superior Change’s mission and values as a social enterprise.
“I am fully committed to contributing to their journey and collectively we are hunting ahead to working with stakeholders to even further strengthen participant security and social accountability.”
Founded in 2020 by Harvard Business school attendees, Better Change has its main headquarters located in Gibraltar whilst also maintaining a separate office in Ardwick, Manchester.
Although maintaining that it is not an ‘anti-gambling’ organisation – noting that its members enjoy occasional bets themselves – the firm has ‘seen first-hand the devastation caused by gambling addiction’, prompting it to adopt an objective of ‘challenging the status-quo’ with regards to gambling related harm.
Welcoming WIllows to the board, Better Change Founder Victoria Reed, said: “On behalf of the entire team at Better Change, we are honoured to have Lee Willows join our Board of Directors.
“His achievements in our sector have been second to none and we look forward to working with him to keep player protection and sustainability at the heart of the gaming industry.”
