William Hill has been announced as the sponsor of the Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster Racecourse.
The British bookmaker is set to sponsor the entire seven-race card, with the one-mile flat handicap race being added, as well as the Spring Mile, Cammidge Trophy and Brocklesby Stakes also being featured under the William Hill title.
Lee Phelps, Head of Broadcast and PR at William Hill, commented: “The Lincoln is a race deep in history that always attracts a high-quality, competitive field, so we’re delighted to be sponsoring it again.
“The dust has only just settled on the Cheltenham Festival, but with the William Hill Lincoln kicking off the new British Flat season on Saturday, and the Grand National Festival, a meeting we are the official betting partner of, only a few weeks away, it’s a very important and busy time for us.”
The operator continues its significant presence in the sport. Notably, last year, William Hill was named the official betting partner of the Randox Grand National Festival as a part of a three-year deal.
“We’ll be celebrating our new sponsorship by offering enhanced place terms on the William Hill Lincoln, which hopefully offers customers plenty of value,” Phelps added on the new deal.
William Hill had previously sponsored the Lincoln Handicap, but this deal was terminated in 2015 as the operator looked to cut on marketing spend due to the introduction of new gambling taxes on its business.
