Canal+ retains EPL pan-Euro coverage rights until 2028

Canal+ has retained its position as the Pan-European broadcaster of the Premier League until 2028.

The French broadcaster maintains its exclusive rights to broadcast EPL matches for audiences in France, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Switzerland, albeit only airing in French.

The renewed deal between Canal+ and the Premier League allows the French pay-TV service to air all 380 fixtures per season in the next rights cycle.

Furthermore, matches will also be available on Canal+ channels, on its over-the-top streaming service app myCanal and on its dedicated Canal+Premier League digital channel.

Paul Molnar, Chief Media Officer of the Premier League, said: “The Premier League is delighted to extend our longstanding partnership with Canal+ until the end of the 2027/28 season.

“Canal+ is an outstanding partner and has continued to deliver market-leading and innovative coverage across its established and new digital platforms. We look forward to Canal+ continuing to be the home of the Premier League across these important territories.”

French sports outlet L’Équipe reported that the upcoming deal between the two parties for the next rights cycle could be worth an estimated €75m (£65.2m) per season.

Canal+ recently partnered with DAZN to allow subscribers of the latter to watch Ligue 1 matches through its platform.
