FSB attains record ‘double-digit growth’ during 2023 Cheltenham Festival

FSB has reported a 38% year-over-year increase in bet numbers and a 45% growth in active players engaging with its partner community during the 2023 Cheltenham Festival.

The sports betting and igaming supplier lauded the figures as ‘record performance numbers’, which were supplemented by a new platform revenue high for the annual event and a 5% jump in turnover from 2022.

Mark Wilson, Sportsbook and Trading Director at FSB, stated: “As a sportsbook first supplier with deep expertise across horse racing, the Cheltenham Festival is one of our tentpole events within the sporting calendar so naturally we are thrilled with this striking set of results.

“Attaining double-digit growth across a number of key metrics is a testament to the dynamism of our teams as we strived to deliver an enhanced product proposition to our partner community over the four days.

“We now look forward to next month’s Grand National confident in our continued ability to deliver a world-class horse racing betting experience to the industry.”

The UK-headquartered platform provider, which powers horse racing brands like Fitzdares and Bet Goodwin, launched new platform products like Bet Boost, integrated forecast/tricast betting and a dedicated Cheltenham hub hosting curated Festival-focused special bets in time for 14 March.

The group’s successful Cheltenham Festival comes a month after going live in North America with Fitzdares in Ontario.

Earlier this month, FSB’s Head of Trading Risk Kyle Brady spoke to SBC ahead of the race meet about why the Cheltenham Festival is such a pivotal time for the sportsbook supplier and how it will showcase its racing heritage across its platform.

“Cheltenham Festival has always been one of our heritage sportsbook events,” he said. “To demonstrate that, all 28 races from last year’s Festival made our Top 30 horse races of 2022 by bet number volume.

“We launched Bet Goodwin 14 months ago on our platform and they’ve become one of the fastest growing UK bookmakers after delivering a really strong racing brand focussed on sponsorships, partnerships and of course a great product.

“So we have a winning track record in horse racing across our platform and our partners, and the Cheltenham Festival allows us to showcase our offering and demonstrate our skills.”
