The Rank Group MD Alan Morgan steps down “to pursue other opportunities”

Announced in a statement this morning, The Rank Group Managing Director Alan Morgan will be stepping down, effective as of July 21, 2019.

The resignation comes as Morgan wishes “to pursue other opportunities”, with his duties set to be assumed by the Chief Executive until a successor is found, with the search set to begin immediately.

John O’Reilly, chief executive of Rank Group, commented on the news: “I would like to thank Alan for all of his hard work in our retail businesses over the last three years. He has been instrumental in leading the transformation plan across the division and he leaves Rank with our best wishes for the future.”

Morgan joined Rank in 2016, tasked with running the Mecca retail business. He was then promoted to lead the group’s UK Retail division in 2017.

Morgan added: “I have had a very exciting three years with Rank and feel that now is the appropriate time for a new challenge. I wish [chief executive] John and the team every success as they continue to work through the transformation plan.”
